ADADO (AGGM) —Heavy gun battle broke out between Galmudug State forces and armed militias near Adado town in central Somalia.
The clash erupted earlier on Wednesday when heavily armed regional forces attacked on militias, who placed illegal roadblocks near the town, residents said.
In phone interview with All-Galgaduud Media, a local resident said that the clash lasted for 30 minutes, had caused casualties, saying number of people were killed or injured in the skirmish.
“It seems heavy fighting as huge sounds of gunfire were heard around the town. The militias repulsed the soldiers took the operation”, he said.
Two soldiers have been reportedly injured in the clash, according to sources.
The local people and drivers of public transportations expressed concern about the unlawful checkpoints placed by the armed gunmen, drivers said.
The newly elected Galmudug president, Ahmed Du’alle Gelle declared that the regional soldiers will launch operations to eradicate all roadblocks laid by unknown armed militias near the town of Adado in central Somalia.
