MOGADISHU — Uknown gunmen have shot and killed a local female official in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.
The victim, whose name has been released as Fos Mohamed Hussein was gunned down near her home in the capital, a witness said.
He says 4-year old girl was aslo killed as gunmen armed with pistols sprayed bullets at Hussein.
The killers reportedly escaped from the shooting scene.
Tens of government soldiers, who were deployed to the area, has started an operation to arrest the culprits.
No arrests have been made over the assassination.
The motive behind for the killing remains unknown.
No group says it carried out the murder yet, but such attacks are carried out Al Shabaab.
The attack comes a day after senior security officer was killed in drive-by shooting in Mogadishu.
