MOGADISHU –Somali-based group of Al Shabaab claimed to have beheaded a prominent elder in Luuq town, some 400 km northwest of Somali capital Mogadishu.
The victim, whose name has been released as Hussein Mohamud was cut off his head by Al Shabaab fighters in the town.
Mohamed was among the Electoral College who elected members of the current Somalia’s Federal Parliament from Jubaland State based in Kismayo
The group’s spokesman for military operations, Abdiasis Abu Musab has claimed the responsibility for the murder of Hussein Mohamed.
The militant group al-Shabaab has threatened earlier electoral delegate who participated in the electoral process that they will be targeted by their fighters
