MOGADISHU – At least three police soldiers have been injured in grenade bomb explosion in Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

Saturday’s explosion happened in the city’s Hodan area, when unknown armed men attacked police soldiers with grenade bombs, a witness said.

He says the attack had injured at least 3 police soldiers and being taken into hospital in the capital.

The attackers have immediately escaped from the scene of the explosion.

No group says it carried out the bomb attack in the capital city of Mogadishu.

Such attacks are often carried out by Somali-based group of Al Shabaab.

The Shabab fighters fled fixed positions in Mogadishu 2011 and have since lost most large towns to a 22,000-strong UN-backed African Union force, fighting alongside government soldiers.

But the group’s fighters still hold sway in areas of the rural hinterland, from which they regularly launch attacks
