The Islamic State group fighters have kidnapped nine civilian people during a dawn attack near , a remote village, some 60km north of Qandala town in Somalia.
The group accused the abductees of being involvement of Friday’s US trikes against the militants, leaving a key figure dead.
Police captain, Abdifatah Mohamed told the Messenger Africa that ISIS fighters had abducted nine civilians earlier on Sunday near its base in Buqa area.
“This terror group accused these civilians of being collabrating with US intelligence after an airstrike which killed a key figure of the militants”, Mohamed said.
The ISIS-linked fighters are a growing presence in the Horn of Africa nation long threatened by the al Qaida-linked extremist group al-Shabab.
