Somalia’s Jubaland State president Ahmed Mohamed Madobe has been accused of commiting human rights abuses, amid massive protests againts his administration across south of Somali regions.
President Ahmed Madobe reportedly ordered his troops to prevent the peacefull rallies in regions under his control.
Somali politicians strongly condemned the serious human rights abuses that are being committed by President’s adminstationbased in Kismayo town, some 500km south of Mogadishu.
Unrest and huge rallies against Jubaland leader Ahmed Madobe are still on-going in and around country’s Gedo region.
The demonstrations are ongoing in Burdhubo, Garbaharey, Afmadow and Bardhere towns after thousands of people took streets of those towna, in a bid to protest against the incompetence by Jubaland leader.
Somali politicians and lawmakers, representing from Gedo region, have concerned latest unrest, calling for Somali federal government to take immediate preventive action against Jubaland leader Ahmed Madobe.
The politicians said in many cases constitute war crimes and serious human rights abuses in themselves, including looting, harming unarmed civilians evictions of civilians from their homes in regions under control of Jubaland.
The Jubaland forces were also accused of targeting unarmed civilians while protesting against Jubaland President Ahmed Madobe.
Relaible reports obtained by Allgalgaduud alledges that human rights violations, including extrajudicial executions by Jubaland forces, in several districts of Gedo region.
The Jubaland leaders is also accused of having relations with Al Shabaab, while he prevented military operations which were aimed to eradicate Al Shabaab.
There has been tension between Jubaland administration and central government after Jubaland leader refused to allow newly oppointed military commanders to launch joint military offensive against Al Shabaab.
