MOGADISHU (AGGM) – Unknown gunmen have shot and killed a civilian woman in Somali capital Mogadishu, witness said.
The victim, whose name has been released as Dahabo Hussein, was gunned down by young men armed with pistols in Mogadishu’s Yaqshid district, a witness said.
He says Hussein was assassinated by hooded gunmen as she was selling charcoals in Towfiq neighborhood.
The killers have escaped from the scene of the incident, according to police officer, who asked to be anonymous because he was unauthorized to speak on media.
Tens of security soldiers, who were deployed to the scene of the shooting have reportedly started an operation to hunt down the perpetrators.
The motive behind for the killing remains unknown.
No group says it has carried out the assassination.
Mogadishu has been witnessing assassinations, bombings and other attacks against government soldiers, officials and elders, who involved in Somali parliamentary elections.
