Roadside explosion targets African Union convoy near Mogadishu

MOGADISHU –Roadside bomb explosion targeting African Union armored personnel carrier has injured one person near Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.

Sunday’s explosion detonated at Hawo Abdi neighborhood near the capital city of Mogadishu, leaving one civilian person injured, a witness said.

He says the bomb attack had aimed at targeting an armored AMISOM vehicle travelling through outside of Mogadishu.

None of the African Union peacekeeping soldiers was killed or injured in the Sunday’s explosion.

No group has claimed the responsibility for the bomb attack, but Al Shabaab carried out similar attacks in and out of the capital city of Mogadishu.
