MOGADISHU – Heavily armed fighters belonging to Al Shabaab launched an attack on army base in Afgoye town, some 30km south of Somalia’s capital Mogadishu.
The attack started with grenade explosion followed by an ambush attack targeted military base manned by government soldiers in the town.
Local residents said that heavy weaponries could be heard.
It remains unclear the exact number of casualties.
Neither government officials nor Al Shabaab commented on the attack happened last night in the town of Afgoye
