GALKACYO –At least 5 people have been killed and 20 others injured in deadly clan fighting broke out between two armed militias near Galkacyo town.
The fighting two clans hailing from Somalia’s semi-autonomous Puntland and Galmudug states flared up at Godad and Gacmafale areas, two rural villages located near Galkacyo town.
Neither Puntland nor Galmudug have so far commented on the ongoing skirmish.
This comes days after a heavy gun battle took place in Sangaduud area, about 50Km away from Galkayo, the regional capital of Mudug province in central Somalia
