Arab League’s ambassador dies in Somalia

MOGADISHU, Somalia – Arab League’s ambassador to Somalia, Hamoud Samaran has on Sunday died suddenly taken ill at office in the capital, Mogadishu.

Somali MP Mohamed Omar Dalha says diplomat Samaran was taken to hospital before his death was announced.

Somali PM Hassan Ali Khaire has expressed my heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of the late Hamud Samran, ambassador of the Secretary General of the League of Arab States on behalf of people and government of Somalia.

“I also convey our deepest sympathies to the Aarab League for the loss of a hardworking and unifying envoy Samaran”, said, PM Khaire.

Samaran had been Arab League’s envoy to Somalia since 2017.
